This video above tells you all about
SO YOU WANT TO BE A VIDEO STAR? – WHO DOESN'T? Well, Here's your chance! And Novo Nordisk; the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Discovery Health, and Discovery Education will help you to make it happen!
Those companies I just listed have banded together to launch Young Voices: Life with Diabetes. So What’s Young Voices all about?
IT'S ABOUT US! Seriously - it is. It’s a national Web-based video campaign encouraging teens and young adults to share their insights on challenges they face living with diabetes. Building on the momentum of the upcoming presidential election, participants OF ALL AGES, even those of us well past our teens, are asked to record a 1 minute video message with:
1) Our OWN diabetes story
2) Send a personal message to the incoming President emphasizing our own personal attitudes, wishes and needs on how our government can improve diabetes care on a national level.
For each submission, Novo Nordisk will donate funds to JDRF (up to $25,000).
Deadline: All videos will be accepted through midnight (ET) October 24, 2008. The top ten videos will be selected and posted on the site on or about the first week in November for all the public to view.
The top vids will be featured during the World Diabetes Day Young Voices: Life with Diabetes Forum, which will be held in New York City at the ESPN Zone in Times Square on November 14, 2008. The Youth Forum will be moderated by ESPN anchor Brian Kenny, and the Forum's main focus is simple. Bring together teens and adults living with type 1 diabetes to share experiences dealing with all of life’s (college, dating, relationships, work, etc) milestones while managing the disease. Oh, there are so many things to tell the "young-ins" or newly diagnosed!
Video entries can be submitted at www.DiscoveryHealth.com and submission is free!
